Historical site (GOUNDODJI)

The historical site of the men with tail of GOUNDODJI  is an archaeological and industrial site.

Officially discovered in 2001 by a Benino-Danish mission, it was presented to the wider world on December 12, 2012 during an official visit by elected municipal officials and decentralized structures in the country of Benin. This site is characterized by 30,000 m² of underground gallery of iron ore extraction dating from a very distant period according to history.

In addition, these holes provided habitats for a particular population of tailed blacksmiths. Archaeological research is still underway to highlight this heritage and to reconstruct its genesis in a better way.
