PANTHEON OF AFRICAN RESISTANCE

The late monarch Dada Gbaguidi Tosso XIII developed the kingdom of Savalou during his eight (8) years on the throne. He nourished the dream of offering the African continent its own identity through the creation of the United States of Africa.

The King had the opportunity to travel to USA – New York where he met with city officials and received a proclamation from Mayor Dickson which established the two cities as cities of friendship. They agreed to support and encourage opportunities for mutually beneficial educational, economic and cultural exchanges.

Its pantheon of African resistance is a tourist site inaugurated on August 13, 2014 and dedicated to the memory of African slaves. In this place full of emotions, you will find the memories of the Pan-African resistance, the aftermath of colonization and slavery
