Nikki’s royal palace is an empire that brings together several kingdoms namely Parakou and Kandi. Nikki’s royal palace characterizes the Baatonu empire. It is led by the emperor, still referred to in the local language as Sinaboko, who embodies traditional political power. Generally, he leads the GAANI party and regularly grants audiences to visitors and residents. In the accomplishment of this noble exercise, the emperor is accompanied by several personalities: The Sinadunwiru, who occupies the function of the 1st Minister and Head of the Royal Guard; Gnon Kogui, the queen mother of the empire; the ministers; the princes and chiefs of the provinces; Baa Deman, the spiritual leader; and the griots.
