The 41 hills

The city of Dassa is still called the country Idaasha, the City of Omandjagou or the city of 41 hills. These hills have a symbolic value and a sacred dimension in the region. They represent a natural power and ritual ceremonies take place there until These days. On the hills of Dassa, you will have the privilege of visiting the relics of the Institute  who taught Ifa (the divinatory art of the Gulf of Guinea) and who knew during the reign of King Djagou Adjiboye (1629-1642) where the pyrography of the hills by the 16 main signs of Ifa are still visible. Dassa across its hills is a peaceful town for lovers of hiking and breathtaking landscapes.
