The Atacora chain

The Atacora chain is a mountain range located more than 600 kilometers from Cotonou. She runs along the North-west of Benin passing through Togo to the center-west of Ghana. In Togo, it is called "Monts Togo" and in Ghana it is known as "Akwapim Hills". The Beninese part culminates 658 meters in altitude with a steep drop and is classified as a "Protected Area of Benin" by the International Union for Nature Conservancy (IUCN).
